Laura Conner Kestner spent 25 years in community journalism before deciding to pursue a career in fiction. She’s a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, seventh-generation Texan, and a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Laura is the author of five books, four historical Christian fiction and one contemporary Christian fiction.

She’s won several writing awards, including an ACFW Genesis Award, the Daphne du Maurier award for excellence in mystery/suspense, and the RWA SARA Emma Merritt award for inspirational romance.  She is a three-time RWA GOLDEN HEART® finalist, a 2019 HOLT Medallion finalist, and a 2019 Will Rogers Medallion Award finalist (for Remember Texas) 2020 WRMA finalist (for A Texas Promise), and a 2023 Selah Award winner (for A Texas Secret).
Laura is thrilled to announce that her third book, A Texas Moon, received the Gold Medallion in the inspirational category of the 2021 Will Rogers Medallion Award Contest for excellence in Western literature and media.
