Laura Conner Kestner spent 25 years in community journalism before deciding to pursue a career in fiction. She’s a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and seventh-generation Texan.

Laura is the author of five books—four historical Christian fiction (Remember Texas, A Texas Promise, A Texas Moon, and A Texas Secret) and Fair Haven, her first work of contemporary Christian fiction.

She is grateful for the opportunity to write novels (a childhood dream), and so grateful for those who are willing to read them.

Laura’s won several writing awards, including an ACFW Genesis Award, the Daphne du Maurier award for excellence in mystery/suspense, and a 2023 Selah Award (for A Texas Secret).

She is a three-time RWA GOLDEN HEART® finalist, a 2019 HOLT Medallion finalist, and a 2019 Will Rogers Medallion Award finalist (for Remember Texas) and a 2020 WRMA finalist (for A Texas Promise).

Laura is thrilled to say that her third book, A Texas Moon, received the Gold Medallion in the inspirational category of the 2021 Will Rogers Medallion Award Contest for excellence in Western literature and media.

All Laura’s books are available on Amazon, including Fair Haven, her first contemporary fiction.
